Teaching Children about Dental Health
It's never too early to start promoting good dental health. Start simply, talking with children about why we have teeth, how we use them and how many sets of teeth people have. It's also not too early to talk to them about a visit to the dentist.
The American Dental Association has a website, Mouth Healthy Kids (www.mouthhealthykids.org), which provides a variety of activities for providers to do with children. When you go to the website, look under the For Educators tab and click on the Smile Smarts Dental Health Curriculum.
